hi hello, you can call me Lyd.
they / them
I’m a queer and disabled writer, artist, teacher, and project manager with a knack for streamlining processes and organizing anything and everything (ideas, essays, closets, you name it). I’m passionate about stories that expand our awareness of what it means to be human in this world and how we might imagine more caring worlds.
I hold a PhD in American Studies from the University of Kansas and am currently the Assistant Editor of the academic journal American Studies.
I’m writing a book on dandelions from the mountains in West Virginia with my service dog Nels, where I’m also learning about foraging and medicine from plants, fungi, and the mountains. Sometimes I sew things, too.
